 Tres Canadas: What is it, and why should I visit?

Simply put, Tres Canadas (or "Three Canyons) is the premier gated community in the greater Ajijic area - and it is just a short automobile ride away from anything you'd ever need.

Originally designed to be a large private estate designed to let horses run freely, the 120-home community features breathtaking views of nearby mountains and Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest lake.

Stables for an equestrian center are already in place, as is a soccer field, with tennis courts, a clubhouse and swimming pool to be constructed soon. It is the intention of the developers to build a golf course on the property, as well.

The first house is finished - and already sold

For your guests, a Bed and Breakfast will also be coming in the near future.

Construction on several homes has been completed; others are currently being built, and groundbreaking on many more will be taking place before year's end.
